Expressing Sparkle
Expressing the sparkle of glass using only black and white.
Even within these constraints, I believe the final drawing is more captivating than a photograph or a reproduction.
Technique
When I tried to express the sparkle as I saw it in the drawing, it didn't work out well. However, my art class teacher taught me that "sparkle is a rapid change in contrast," and applying this made it possible to express the sparkling parts effectively.
Additionally, I learned systematic methods to represent transparent and sparkling objects, such as shading thick parts more densely.
